Raymonde Gagnon is a midwife, researcher and full professor in the Midwifery Department at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. She holds a master's degree in community health with a specialty in intercultural ethnology from Université Laval (Québec) and a doctorate in applied human sciences from the Université de Montréal. Committed to education, she has assumed the direction of the midwifery program at UQTR and continues to innovate in the teaching of cultural competencies. She also works in collaboration with the director and the team of professors for the reconfiguration of the midwifery program. Her research focuses on the experience of pregnancy and childbirth in different care settings, obstetric and gynaecological violence and respectful care and professional practices. She is a co-investigator in the RESPCCT research project, which has led her to share her knowledge of the Quebec environment and to adapt the data collection tools for French-speaking participants.
